The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is Australia’s national scheme for people with disability. We can connect people with disabilities to support in their local community and provide funding for eligible people with disabilities.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is the independent Australian Government agency coordinating the NDIS. It is the central body that will provide information and referrals linking participants to services and activities in order to deliver the best individualized plans of the scheme. The scheme recognizes the participants needs and goals to develop greater independence and are available to anyone with intellectual, physical or mental (psychosocial) conditions and will be provided to all Australians who meet the access requirements
You will be able to access the NDIS if you meet all of the eligibility criteria:
- The NDIS is only available to people with disability under the age of 65.
- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a protected special category visa to be allowed access to NDIS support.
- You qualify under NDIS early intervention requirements if you are a child up to the age of six with a developmental delay that can be reduced by early intervention support.
